Guidance for Reporting Speeding Vehicles

This guidance note is intended to inform residents of the correct process for reporting speeding vehicles.
The enforcement of speeding offences is the sole responsibility of the police. North Wales Police rely on reports from the public to identify areas of concern, therefore it is important that all incidents of speeding are reported directly to them. The more reports received about speeding in a particular area, the more clearly the issue is highlighted and the greater the likelihood that appropriate action will be taken.

There are three ways to report speeding vehicles:

2. Telephone (Non-Emergency) Call 101
3. Operation SNAP (Online – Evidence-Based Reporting) This method should be used where dashcam, helmet-cam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage is available showing speeding or other driving offences. https://gosafesnap.wales/

The more residents who report speeding incidents through the correct channels, the greater the chance of police action being taken. Posting comments on social media does not constitute an official report and will not be acted upon by the police.
