Rhuddlan Town Councillor Ann Davies has been awarded a British Empire Medal for services to local government, to the NHS and to the community in Rhuddlan, Denbighshire.
County Councillor Ann Davies commented:
“I was absolutely thrilled and delighted to receive such a prestigious award. I was overwhelmed to read the kind letters my daughter Jane received supporting the application for this award, including many from Rhuddlan residents and a heartfelt letter from my granddaughter Marni, who has consistently supported me in my work.
It has been a privilege to serve the residents of Rhuddlan and Denbighshire.
Being recognised for my work in Local Government, Education services and the NHS is a real honour, they are all areas close to my heart.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have sent such lovely messages congratulating me on this award.

Mayor Mike Kermode congratulated Cllr Ann Davies on behalf of the Town Council on receiving the British Empire Medal in recognition of her work. Cllr Kermode commented “Councillors often do lots of good work in the community without recognition or reward – it is good to see that the New Year’s Honours’ List does address this issue by awarding Cllr. Ann Davies the BEM for her many years of community service as a Town and a County Councillor – many congratulations from the Town Council”.
