MAINTENANCE
Green maintenance continues apace at Clwb Bowlio Rhuddlan Bowling Club as it prepares for its reopening in early April 2021. Special thanks to ground staff Aled Roberts & Colin Holmes for their continuing hard work.
Shirley Capper is seeking to form a working party for clubhouse re-painting as soon as Covid-19 restrictions allow.
Volunteers who can offer their services in this capacity will be very much appreciated and should contact Shirley on her mobile number below.
SHORT, MEDIUM, LONG TERM PLANS 2021
The club is in the process of developing its short, medium and long-term strategy for the new season.
Initially, social bowling only within the current Sport Wales Covid-19 guidelines will be phased in as per last season’s arrangements.
During the first half of this season, it is hoped to again extend this to internal competition between members and progress to round robin competition as Covid-19 restrictions ease.
In the second half of the season the club hopes to participate in possible league competition should this ensue.
In the meantime, senior citizen playing members have already been circulated to ascertain team composition for 2021 following the Clwydian SC League’s optimistic statement of intent to resume competitive bowling later in the season. One SC team will be entered this season under the captaincy of Shirley Capper should this proposed SC League venture materialise.
ADMINISTRATION
The club wishes to announce that Gwilym Jones, our longstanding Secretary has decided to stand down. We would like to thank and commend Gwilym for his eleven years of sterling service and are pleased he is continuing as a playing member. In the meantime, David Evans will continue his interim secretarial duties in addition to his role as Chair. The club is also pleased to announce that Jason Morris has agreed to take on the newly created role of Registration Secretary. Megan Morris remains in post as Vice Chair. Tony Rainford has agreed to continue as Treasurer. Tony’s financial acumen is indeed highly valued.
David Evans continues as Covid-19 Club Officer. Shirley Capper, Social Media Officer, will now also act as Club Covid-19 Contact responsible for the ‘track and trace’ register, taking over from husband Les who has been thanked for his diligence.
MEMBERSHIP FEES SEASON 2021: REWARD FOR LOYALTY ANNOUNCEMENT
Paid up Playing Members from last season will be entitled to free membership this season. Paid up Social Members 2020 upgrading to Playing Membership in season 2021 can do so for only £20. Otherwise, fees remain @ £35 for playing members, £15 for social members.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Current Rhuddlan Town Council Mayor Arwel Roberts is stepping down after undertaking an additional year of service on account of Covid-19. Well done to Arwel, an active club member who has been a credit to his ‘chain of office’ during the past two years!
