Councillor Val Simmons was made Mayor at the Town Council’s AGM on Thursday 9^th May 2024. Val was brought up in Prestatyn before moving  to Rhyl where she married David back in 1974.  They moved to Rhuddlan in November 2011 and it was one of the best things they ever did, they both love Rhuddlan, saying it is both friendly and  welcoming and has a very supportive community with lots of things to do.

She has been a Rhuddlan Town Councillor since May 2022, Deputy Mayor 2023/2024 and is looking forward to being Mayor for the next 12 months.  Val is the Volunteer Group Coordinator for the Conwy & Denbighshire MS Group and also sits on the MS Cymru Council of Wales.

Val and David will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary in September and have two sons and two grandsons. Most people know Val from the time she was the Operations Manager at the Pavilion Theatre Rhyl for 28 years. Val’s interests of course are going to the Theatre  to see Musicals, Concerts and all the Strictly Dance Shows.
