The Aelwyn Morgan Award is given annually by Rhuddlan Town Council in memory of a former Head Teacher of Ysgol y Castell. Mr Aelwyn Morgan was held in high esteem by all who knew him and his personality commanded great respect and admiration in many spheres.

A county councillor’s determination has led to the discovery of a 9,000 year-old encampment “on a par with the oldest proven mesolithic site” in Wales. The site, on Castle Hill, off Hylas Lane in Rhuddlan, yielded a total of 314 stone artefacts on a site which is believed to have been a sandy-ridge overlooking the floodplain of the Afon Clwyd.
The Armed Forces Covenant network in Wales currently has access to funds to support small grants for projects working in Wales supporting members of the Armed Forces Community. Via this application form you are now able to apply for grant funding of up to £1,000 per organisation.
