Letter of Condolence

It is with great sadness that I write to pass on thoughts and prayers from members and staff of Rhuddlan Town Council to the Royal Family in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The 2022 Aelwyn Morgan Award

The Aelwyn Morgan Award is given annually by Rhuddlan Town Council to a person or persons who have done outstanding work in our local community.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – 1926 -2022

The passing of Queen Elizabeth is tremendously sad. She has shown extraordinary service and commitment to our country for over 70 years, and she has touched the lives of so many people across this country – and the world. She is loved by so many people and will be greatly missed.

Congratulations to Alec Shurmur

Congratulations to Alec Shurmur of Highlands Rd , Rhuddlan for passing his silver certificate in the Duke of Edinburgh project. Alec had diligently collected litter around the town for many months.

The Cinnamon Trust Needs More Dog Walking Volunteers in Kinmel Bay

The Cinnamon Trust is the national charity whose wonderful volunteers help people over retirement age and those in the latter stages of a terminal illness by offering all kinds of free pet care. We are looking for dog walking volunteers to help a resident of Kinmel and their delightful dogs who would love to go for a good walk.

Rhuddlan Town Councillors Active at Admirals Fields

Rhuddlan Mayor Mike Elgin and County Councillor Arwel Roberts recently spent some time clearing weeds from the path from Rhyl Road to Admirals Fields after concerns were raised by a local resident about the untidiness of the area.

Digital Communities Wales’ partner, Good Things Foundation, are helping thousands of vulnerable people in communities across the UK to get connected through their National Databank. The databank is tackling data poverty head on by providing free SIMS and mobile data to people in need.

Places for Nature – 2022 Applications

Great news – Applications for Local Places for Nature have re-opened. Over the last few years more than 800 community green spaces across Wales have been created, restored and enhanced. Community groups and organisations of all shapes and sizes got involved – from disability charities and youth groups to social enterprises and carer groups.

New Chair & Vice Chair for Denbighshire

Denbighshire County Council has elected a new Chair and Vice Chair for 2022/ 2023. At a meeting in Ruthin, the Council elected Councillor Arwel Roberts (Rhuddlan) as the Chair for the next year.

New Mayor and Deputy Mayor 2022-2023

At the May AGM of Rhuddlan Town Council Cllr Mike Elgin was elected Mayor for a second year. At the same meeting Cllr Mike Kermode was elected Deputy Mayor.
